Cloud burst near Rampur: Many houses including a school and livestock washed away 

 Two cloud bursts occurred at Kandahar village of Sarpara Panchayat of Rampur sub-division in the district last night rendering heavy loss of property and livestock.

According to SDM Rampur said that Cloud burst in the village around 2300 hrs on Tuesday under the Rampur Subdivision of Shimla 200 km from this capital town.  

The flash flood disrupted NH-5 between Jeouri and Bernoi area near Shimla and Kinnaur border which was restored now.

The Gram Panchayat Sarpara Pardhan(head) Mohan Kapatiya informed the administration stating that cloudburst in Kandhar village of Sarpara Panchayat. He said that due to natural calamities, the road and communication of Sarpara village have been cut off from the country and the world. He has demanded from the administration that immediate relief should be given to the affected people after taking stock of the situation on the spot.   

The cloudburst buried and washed away the fruits gardens and fertile lands and many houses have damaged and washed away.

The flash flood and  Water rushed inside the houses of villagers.   The primary school building, youth club building, and other people’s houses have been washed away due to floods.  Apart from this, people’s cows, bulls, sheep, and goats were also washed away in this flood.  

According to the administration, the NDRF team has been requisitioned by the administration. 

Reports arriving here said that an NDRF team is also deployed at Malana Stage -II dam site to open the flood gates and evacuate the brimming dam in Kullu district. As it has been stated on Tuesday the dam gate developed a snag and it could not release control water.

Administration already issued a red alert in the downstream of Parvati river till Bhuntar and people are being asked to stay away from the river banks.
