Children took out a rally in Peeran on International Anti-Drug Day

On the occasion of International Anti-Drug Day, the children of Government Senior Secondary School Peeran took out a rally and gave the message of de-addiction. Peeran village echoed with the slogans of the children holding banners in their hands, “Whoever takes to drugs will not return home.”
Acting Principal Devinda Chauhan while addressing the children on this occasion said that this year the theme for International Anti-Drug Day is ‘The Evidence is Clear – Invent in Prevention’. She said that the main purpose of celebrating this day is to raise awareness among people and children about the ill effects of drug abuse. Drug addiction is such a termite that ends life before time.
Teacher Sheela Sharma said that today the web of drug addiction has spread in our society in such a way that every youth is getting caught in its clutches, for which it is important to make children aware so that they can stay away from drugs and intoxicants. Sheela Sharma said that drug addiction causes many diseases in our body like lung cancer, liver and kidney diseases.
On this occasion, teachers Sunil Kumar, Suman Bala, Dinesh Kumar, Balwinder Thakur and Manoj Sharma along with other staff members also participated in the rally.
