Celebrating 25 Years of Cricketing Dreams: HPCA Charts the Road Ahead
The Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association (HPCA) held its 20th annual general meeting (AGM) on December 20, 2025, at the scenic HPCA Stadium in Dharamshala.
Chaired by vice-president Amitabh Sharma, the gathering was more than just a formal meeting—it was a heartfelt reflection on how far cricket in Himachal Pradesh has come, and a roadmap for where it’s headed.
Members discussed ways to expand cricket’s reach across the state, strengthen the performance of the Himachal team at the national level, and build structured development programs to nurture future talent.
The AGM also marked a moment of transition, with new office-bearers elected for the next three years: Vijay Kumar as vice-president, Manuj as secretary, Vishal Sharma as joint secretary, and Shivendra Singh, Dr RS Rana, and Shailendra Singh joining the apex council.
A highlight of the meeting was the unanimous resolution to host a grand celebration for HPCA’s 25th anniversary, honoring the transformative leadership of former BCCI president Anurag Thakur. Members stood together to applaud his role in putting Himachal cricket on the national and international map.
The association also expressed gratitude for the successful hosting of the India vs South Africa T20 match in Dharamshala and thanked the BCCI for entrusting marquee fixtures to the venue.
In a proud moment for women’s cricket, special congratulations were extended to the HPCA women’s team after two players from Himachal were selected for the Women’s Premier League (WPL)—a milestone that signals growing opportunities for female athletes in the state.
The meeting concluded with tributes to outgoing secretary Avnish Parmar, who was honored with a traditional shawl, cap, and bouquet for his dedicated service.
