Bye Election for Mandi L S : Election observer call on 1st voter of World’s largest Democracy

Mandi Parliamentary Bye election  Central Expenditure Observer and Indian Revenue Service officer Vimal Kumar Meena, met  with Master Shyam Saran Negi, the first voter of the world’s largest democracy, India, at his residence on Thursday.
Mr Meena inquired about the health and well being of centenarian Mr Negi  well the meeting was a courtesy callbefore the Mandi Lok Sabha bye election scheduled to held on Oct 30.. During the meeting, Mr  Meena  congratulated the first voter and said that it is a matter of pride for the country, even at the age of 104, he is keen to caste his vote on 30 October.  
He said that the youth should take inspiration from the country’s first voter Shyam Saran Negi and must exercise their franchise on the day of elections in the great festival of democracy so that the country’s democracy could be strengthened.

Mr Negi also shared the experiences of various elections held from the country’s first parliamentary election till now with the expenditure observer.  
Master Negi told Mr Meena that from the first parliamentary election held in 1951 till date, he has exercised franchise in all the Lok Sabha, Vidhan Sabha, and Panchayati Raj Institutions elections.  
Shyam Saran told that he is fully prepared to vote in the by-election to be held on October 30, 2021. Mr Negi  appealed everyone to  exercise the franchise for the strength of democracy.  
He expressed his happiness on the visit of election observer at the residence  after knowing that he was meeting himon the call of Election Commission of India, to know about his well being and to pray for better health.
 On this occasion, Expenditure Vimal Kumar Meena honored the country’s first voter by presenting him with organ cloth as mark of respect.  On this occasion Assistant Election Officer and Sub-Divisional Officer Kalpa Swati Dogra and Expenditure Supervisor’s Liaison Officer Ritesh Patial were also present.
Mr Negi was declared first voters by Election Commission of India first time in 2009 and 2014 Parliamentary after going through Election record since first general election 1951.
