Bye-election: 17 Companies of Central Paramilitary Forces deployed in HP

As many as 17 companies of Central Paramilitary Police including six ITBP, three SSB, three CRPF and five BSF have been deployed to conduct safe and free bypolls in Himachal Pradesh as polling is scheduled on Oct 30 and counting of votes on November 2.  
 Director General of Police, Himachal Pradesh, Sanjay Kundu said in a press statement issued here todaythat  apart from 17 companies, 6000 police personnel of different ranks of the state police have also been deployed for election duty.
He said that apart from the police personnel, 2539 Home Guard volunteers have also been deployed in the state for election related duties. 

 He informed that by-elections to be held on October 30 for Mandi parliamentary constituency and Fatehpur Vidhan Sabha constituency of district Kangra, 5Arki assembly constituency of district Solan and Jubbal Kotkhai assembly constituency of district Shimla.
About 2796 polling stations  have been set up in the state out of which 48 declared very sensitive, 267 sensitive and 2481 general category polling booths.
Apart from this, 63 flying squads and 63 monitoring teams have been constituted in the state as per the instructions of the Election Commission of India.  
About 40 barriers and entrances along the borders with neighboring states have been sealed and police force has been deployed at all these places. 
 Central Paramilitary forces have been deployed at various places to check the supply of liquor during the elections.

 Adequate central paramilitary force, police and home guards have been deployed in a systematic manner at each polling booth according to its sensitivity.
  Apart from this, a total of 25 counting centers have been set up for the counting of votes for the elections to be held on November 2. 
Strong room and counting center would also gaurded  by the three teir security cover comprising of troops of Central Security Force, State Police Reserve Corps and District Police, which would be continuously deployed from the day of the election till the counting of votes is over. 
 Central Armed Police Forces have been deployed in the respective 47 police stations of the state to assist in smooth conducting of polling.
      He said that Himachal Police has taken all necessary steps to conduct peaceful, free and fair elections in the state and the police appealed to the public that all voters should come forward to exercise their right to vote.
