By starting horse-trading politics, BJP has tarnished the culture of the state: Sukhu
Addressing an election meeting at Patta Barauri in Kasauli assembly constituency, Chief Minister Thakur Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu lashed out at the BJP and said that the BJP has tarnished the culture of the state by starting horse-trading politics in Himachal Pradesh. He said that after betraying the party, six Congress MLAs were sold in the political market and now it is the responsibility of the voters of the state to put a complete stop to horse-trading politics. If the politics of horse trading is not taught a lesson now, it will continue in the future. He said that Congress does not have money power, but manpower is the strength of the party. This is an election to save democracy and in the coming elections, the voters of the state will punish the BJP for stealing one Rajya Sabha seat and will give all four Lok Sabha seats to the Congress party. He said that BJP people will bring money to buy votes. You keep the money but vote only for the Congress Party candidate.
The Chief Minister said that the tainted people have cheated the public and played with public sentiments. He said that after betraying the party, the sold-out MLA kept running out of the state for a month and his family members were also worried about him. On the day when the budget was to be passed, BJP state president Rajeev Bindal, who came under CRPF protection from Chandigarh, broke the gate of the assembly. The tainted people came to the assembly and marked their presence and then ran away without voting on the budget. The sold MLAs got new coats and pants stitched because they thought that they were going to become ministers, but their assembly membership itself was canceled. Then when the tainted MLA reached the Supreme Court, the court also refused to grant him pardon. He said that one day suddenly the tainted people went to Delhi and wore the BJP flag. Thakur Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu said that this is the first time that independent MLAs are roaming around with resignation in hand, protesting and going to court. He said that he is not afraid of political conspiracies because a son from an ordinary family wants to fight. The Chief Minister said that his fight is against drug mafia, mining mafia and land mafia and he will protect the interests of the people of the state at any cost.
He said that while being the Chief Minister, Jairam Thakur slept for five years and opened the doors for thieves. By closing them, the present government has earned additional revenue of Rs 2200 crore and the economy of the state has improved by twenty percent. Now public money is being distributed among the public. Pension of Rs 1500 to women, Rs 1200 per month to cowherds, Rs 3 lakh to build houses for 1.15 lakh widows, free treatment for elderly above 70 years of age, historic increase of Rs 60 in the daily wage of MNREGA, minimum support price of milk, 4 percent DA to employees, five times increase in diet money of policemen, the state government has done all this with this additional revenue. He said that the arrears of all the employees are being cleared and the present state government has so far paid 7000 widows their arrears in full. The state government restored the old pension in the very first cabinet meeting and Himachal BJP leaders are going to Delhi and creating hurdles in getting Rs 9000 crore of NPS back from the Centre. He said that the present state government has brought as many schemes in its tenure of 1.25 years as it has never brought in the last 75 years.
Thakur Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu said that during the disaster, BJP leaders turned their backs on the disaster-affected families of the state, while I followed the Rajdharma. He said that he requested the BJP leaders to go to Delhi and provide financial help to the disaster-affected people but they did not do so. The state government gave a package of Rs 4500 crore from its resources to rehabilitate the disaster-affected people. He said that Shimla MP Suresh Kashyap did not write a single DO letter to provide financial assistance to the disaster-affected people. He said that the time has come to teach a lesson to the MP who was not with you in the disaster. The Chief Minister said that if Congress candidate Vinod Sultanpuri becomes victorious in the Lok Sabha elections, he will himself see the development of the Kasauli assembly constituency.
He said that the present state government has borne the expenses of education and care of orphan children by making laws for them. By making changes in the revenue laws, more than one lakh Intikaal and more than seven thousand Takseem pending cases were settled in three months.
On this occasion, Congress candidate from Shimla Lok Sabha seat Vinod Sultanpuri, Congress candidate from Mandi Lok Sabha seat Vikramaditya Singh, Chief Parliamentary Secretary Sanjay Awasthi and District Solan Congress President Shiv Kumar Sharma and other party officials were present
