British Era Sanjauli-Dhalli tunnel to be replaced by double lane new tunnel

Britisher Era 170 yrs old Sanjauli Dhalli tunnel which is about 150 metre in length would be extended double lane under Smart City Mission.

The consultation process is being conducted by the Superintendent Engineer of Himachal Pradesh Road and Infrastructure Development Corporation(HPRIDCL) with the stakeholders of the town today..
SE R K Shridhar of HPRIDCL said that high quality techniques to be employed to build two ways 150 meter traffic tunnel. Double lane would facilitate the people to rid of traffic jam and also save their time.
The tunnel would also help the commuters to walk on foot and lay the power and communication span and water pipes inside it.
  The Austrian techniques to be employed for the construction of tunnel and Jio data group was appointed management advisor for the construction of tunnel..
Deputy Mayor of Shimla Mr Shailender Chauhan and SE of HPRIDCL said that assistance of local people is necessary to built up the parallel traffic highway tunnel construction to extend the 170 yrs old.
This Tunnel which was constructed on 1852 by the Britishers however longest lifespan of any concrete tunnel is not more than 100yrs 

The teaming population, increasing traffic load and hike in number of tourists footfall required extention if this tunnel and global tendering process for this project likely to be completed shortly and project likely to be completed by 2022.

The group had played important role in construction of Metro and road project in Delhi, Bangalore and Rishikesh town.
Since Dhalli tunnel surrounded above with number buildings therefore special technique need to be employed in construction this project to avoid damaged to already buildup project
