BJP Spreading Misinformation to Cover Its Failures
Naresh Chauhan, Chief Media Advisor to the Chief Minister, stated today that the Congress-led government in Himachal Pradesh is working efficiently under the able guidance and dynamic leadership of Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu. He said that the decisions taken with the vision of systemic transformation have benefitted a large number of people across the state. Chauhan was addressing a press conference here today.
He said the government is functioning with strong resolve. The Chief Minister has taken several historic steps toward making the state self-reliant, and these decisions are expected to yield long-term positive outcomes. Under the CM’s leadership, ministers and MLAs are working in unison, and developmental activities are gaining momentum.
Chauhan advised Leader of the Opposition Jairam Thakur to stop making unnecessary remarks about the Congress Party or the government’s work and instead focus on his own party’s functioning. Taking a dig, he said that the BJP has now become a party without leadership and without real issues. He added that the internal unrest within BJP over leadership is no secret and that several leaders are vying for prominence by maintaining contact with the party high command.
Referring to Harsh Mahajan, who joined the BJP from Congress only a year ago, Chauhan noted that even his influence and connections with the BJP high command have stirred unease within the party. BJP leaders, he claimed, are trying to malign the Congress and the government in order to hide their own failures and distract the public from the internal conflicts within their party.
Naresh Chauhan called it unfortunate that despite being out of power for over two years, BJP leaders have never supported the government in matters of state or public interest. Despite having four MPs from Himachal in the Lok Sabha, they have never advocated for the state’s rights or interests. He further alleged that even though crores of rupees due to Himachal are pending with the central government, BJP leaders haven’t raised the issue with Prime Minister Narendra Modi or any other Union Minister.
Taking a jab at the misinformation being spread about government ministers on social media, Chauhan said it is part of a well-planned strategy by the BJP to defame the government and conspire to bring it down. He asserted that the people of the state are well aware of the truth and will not be misled by the BJP’s tactics.
