BJP spoiled Shimla in the name of Smart City: Rohit Thakur

 Education Minister Rohit Thakur has said that BJP could not complete the works which were started in Shimla Municipal Corporation during Congress tenure. He said that even in the name of a smart city, the BJP did a bad condition to the city. The Municipal Corporation kept filling its coffers by imposing taxes on the people but never showed any interest in solving the problems of people.
Today, while addressing street meetings in four wards of Municipal Corporation, Lower Dhali, Bhattakufar, Upper Dhali and Shanti Vihar, Education Minister Rohit Thakur, Rural Development Minister Anirud Singh, and Chief Parliamentary Secretary Mohan Lal Brakta took a dig at the BJP and said that now When the Shimla Municipal Corporation elections have come, they are worried about the development of Shimla and its problems. He said that the Congress government has been formed in the state under the leadership of Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu, who is dedicated towards the development of the state.
Anirudh Singh said that Shimla city had to bear the brunt of the tussle between BJP leaders in the BJP-ruled Municipal Corporation. He said that there has been a lot of corruption in Shimla Municipal Corporation in the name of smart city. The BJP kept even the rules in check to give benefits to some of its faces. He said that the wards of Congress councilors were discriminated against in the matter of development.
CPM Mohan Lal Brakta said that the BJP never paid any attention towards Shimla city and its adjoining suburbs. He said that sometime before the assembly elections, the BJP had opened the box of announcements to mislead the people. He said that Congress will write a new saga of development in Shimla Municipal Corporation. Urging everyone to unite and make Congress candidates win with huge votes, he said that another name of Congress is development and Congress will move ahead on this path.
