Congress to restore old pension scheme in Himachal

Fill up 63,000 vacant posts in government

LAUNCHING a scathing assault on ruling Bhartiya Janta Party over its alleged policies of running off with peoples’ privileges in a welfare state, AICC general secretary and congress tall leader Priyanka Gandhi today appealed the electorates to pull up their socks to show the door to corrupt, inefficient and capitalists friendly government form the state.

She announced that if the congress voted to power, the party would restore the Old Pension Scheme (OPS) and fill up over 65,000 vacant posts in government sector. Besides, five lakhs new jobs also to be created to eliminate the growing unemployment in Hiamchal Pradesh.

Priyanka Gandhi who formally kick started the election campaign in this tiny hill state, has arrived to attend a “ Parvartan Partigya Rally” at historic Thodo ground in Solan town, on Friday. This was her first ‘maha election rally” in which thousands of party workers and people from all sections have reached the venue to listen to the leaders following failure of BJP government in safeguarding the interests of the Himahclai people

Addressing a mammoth gathering, the AICC general secretary of the oldest party of the nation exhorted the party’s rank and file and people to recall that how the BJP leadership ruined the future of the youths and people the country by promoting the big corporate houses. Putting of Public Sector Undertaking (PSU) on sale has added the misery of unemployed youths and employment opportunities have been squeezed in the country.

Notably, the congress would be contesting the upcoming assembly elections in the absence of former chief minister Virbhadra Singh that would not be a smooth sailing for the party’s rank and file and its leaders as the BJP election strategies have already made-up to counter congress every campaign on each nook and corner of the state. Besides, the congress may also face potential threat form AAP that would also jump into fray, this time.

Priyanka Gandhi said that it was Indira Gandhi who accorded full state hood Himachal and framed polices to develop the state.

“ It’s not merely an election rally but it’s an assembly to think, struggle against the anti people polices of BJP government that run off with the rights and privileges of the common men ever since its assumed power in the country as well as Himachal,” she lamented.

BJP government did not bother safeguard the interests of women, youths, farmers and horticulturists of Himachal who even could not sell their produces at genuine prices in the markets. Over 63,000 posts were lying vacant in government sector and Jai Ram government remained busy in raising the loan to the tune of Rs.63,200 crores during the past four and half years regimes. Government had turned mute spectator during “Covid -19”, PP kit scams, police recruitment scams were the achievements of BJP government.

Ridiculing the CM’s favorite slogan “Riwaj Badalenge”, she said, “BJP has already changed the traditions by imposing GST that lead to weakening of traders’ economy and pushing the small business almost on the verge of ruining”.

Sky rocketing prices of LPG cylinders, growing inflation, corruption and unemployment has made the lives of common man more miserable.

Priyanka Gandhi said that congress if voted to power would establish a provide Rs. 680 crores budget to establishing small industries under start up schemes to generate more and more employment. It would also give top preferences to Himachali in all private investments and industries. The party would also stick to its 10 guarantee programmers.

Priyanka Gandhi said that the BJP leaders always focused on promoting capitalism instead of eliminating the public grievances and carrying out massive development.

She said that Congress would also formulate a specific “Drug policy” and establish drug addiction centers in the state. A food processing unit would also be setup to facilitate the farming community. Health and education infrastructure would be strengthened, Gandhi said.

Earlier, Chatishgarh CM Bhupesh Baghel appealed the electorates to come forward to oust corrupt and inefficient Jai Ram Thakur government.

PCC president Partibha Singh welcoming the Priyanka Gandhi said that people of the state had made up their minds to show the door to BJP.

CLP leader Mukesh Agnihotri said that time has come to give farewell to Jai Ram who will surly sing a song “Koi Lota De mere bite hue din” after losing the power in Himachal.
