BJP leader is frustrated due to unfulfilled political ambitions: Naresh Chauhan
Chief Minister’s media advisor Naresh Chauhan said here today that the appointment of Chief Parliamentary Secretary in the present state government has been done as per the rules. The CPS case is pending in the High Court and the state government is strongly presenting its case in favor of these appointments before the court. BJP has no right to declare these appointments unconstitutional until the decision of the High Court comes.
He said that as far as the question of Leader of Opposition Jai Ram Thakur is concerned, he was repeatedly claiming during the Lok Sabha elections that BJP government would be formed at the center and in the state on June 4 and the Congress government would fall in the state, which has failed. He said that the people of the state have completely rejected the politics of horse-trading of the BJP by winning four seats in the by-elections held recently in six assembly constituencies. He said that after the by-elections, the Congress government in the state has become stronger with the number of MLAs in the House reaching 38.
He said that the voters have given a befitting reply to the supporters of money power politics by rejecting 4 out of the 6 people with whom Jai Ram Thakur had conspired to topple the government. The people of Himachal do not like this kind of politics. The public sends its representative to the Vidhan Sabha for five years to advocate the interests of the concerned area and putting one’s membership at stake for personal benefits is a betrayal of the public.
Naresh Chauhan said what are the ambitions of Jai Ram Thakur due to which he is dreaming of toppling the government. Does the Leader of Opposition not believe in democracy? He said that all this drama is being staged by Jai Ram Thakur to save the post of Leader of Opposition. He said that earlier it was being said that the government would be toppled on June 4, but that date has passed more than a week and the government is working with more stability than before and is dedicated to the works of public welfare. The government has become stronger by winning four assembly constituencies in the by-elections and it is clear from the decision of the voters that they have strong faith in the leadership of Chief Minister Thakur Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu in the state.
He said that Jairam Thakur is repeatedly saying that he will topple the government, whereas the state government has a clear majority in terms of numbers. He said that today BJP has only 27 MLAs in the assembly and Congress is in majority with 38 MLAs. In the upcoming by-elections also, the state government will win all three seats and will be in majority with 41 MLAs in the assembly. He said that this must have happened for the first time in history that independent MLAs have resigned, whereas independent MLAs can support the ruling party or the opposition according to the issues. The intention of the independent MLAs behind the resignation is also under suspicion and due to this, in case of re-election, on one hand developmental activities have stopped and on the other hand the economic burden on the state has also increased.
He said that no matter how much money Jai Ram Thakur uses, he will have to wait till 2027 for the possibility of his government being formed. There is a leadership battle going on within the BJP, in which the state party president and the leader of the opposition are trying to protect their respective supremacy. Now Anurag Thakur has also been shown the way out of the Union Cabinet, due to which he has also started looking for his future in state politics. The pressure of this is also visible in the nervousness of Jai Ram Thakur.
He said that under the able leadership of the Chief Minister, the state government will fulfill every promise made to the people and will live up to their expectations. As per the promise made to the people, the state government will soon deposit Rs. 3000 in the accounts of women as the arrears of April and May under the Indira Gandhi Mahila Samman Nidhi Yojana, for which the amount has already been released.
