BJP is not well-wisher of Himachal Pradesh: Sukhu
Addressing an election rally at Shamshi in district Kullu, Chief Minister Thakur Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu said that Leader of Opposition Jairam Thakur arrogantly challenged God in the Assembly and said that even God cannot save this government. He said that even God does not support sinners and God has saved the state government which wants the welfare of the common man. He said that after cross-voting in the Rajya Sabha elections, six rebels fled from the state and remained out of Himachal Pradesh for a month. When he returned to Himachal Pradesh, he was under the protection of CRPF jawans, who were not protecting him but his briefcases. He said that Leader of Opposition Jairam Thakur’s mathematics is weak, which is why he is repeatedly claiming to form his government. The present state government will complete its five-year tenure. He said that people will never forgive the BJP for trying to buy public sentiments. He said that the time has come to teach a lesson to those who tarnish the culture of Himachal Pradesh and only the people of the state can save democracy.
The Chief Minister said that Jairam Thakur also conspired against Kangana Ranjit and fielded her from Mandi Lok Sabha seat. He said that Kangana is a good heroine, but her director is a flop and the film is also sure to flop. BJP state president Rajeev Bindal is writing Kangana’s dialogues and Jairam Thakur is giving direction, but Congress candidate Vikramaditya Singh is the hero of politics and he will win. He said that the Congress party is asking for votes in the name of development and the voters of the state will vote for development.
Thakur Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu said that the state government has fixed the purchase price of cow milk at Rs 45 per liter and buffalo milk at Rs 55 per litre. He said that the increase in milk prices is just the beginning and the state government is making efforts to strengthen the rural economy. He said that the state government has increased the daily wage under MNREGA to Rs 300, minimum wage to Rs 400, made schemes for widows, given four percent dearness allowance to the employees and is clearing their arrears. He said that while being the Chief Minister, Jairam Thakur kept sleeping for five years and kept looting the wealth of the state. Whereas the present state government is waking up and closing the thieves’ doors, thereby earning Rs 2200 crore in a year.
He said that BJP is not friendly to Himachal. The state government provided old pension to the government employees and Himachal BJP leaders are creating hurdles in bringing back Rs 9000 crore of NPS to the Centre. Not only this, during the disaster last year, the state government temporarily restored electricity, water and roads in Kullu district within 48 hours and brought 75 thousand stranded tourists home safely. In the midst of such a huge disaster, anarchy did not spread anywhere and the culture of Atithi Devo Bhava was introduced in Himachal Pradesh. He said that even without central assistance, the state government rehabilitated 22 thousand families and by changing the rules, gave a special relief package of Rs 4500 crore. Whereas BJP leaders continued doing politics and made no efforts from the Central Government to provide financial help to the affected families.
Earlier, the Chief Minister also took out a road show from Bhuntar to Shamshi. On this occasion, Congress Party candidate from Mandi Vikramaditya Singh, Chief Parliamentary Secretary Sunder Singh Thakur and other dignitaries were present.
