BJP boycotted the CM’s reply to the motion thanking the Governor’s address in the Himachal Assembly 

Opposition BJP in the Himachal Pradesh Assembly boycotted Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu’s reply on the thanks notion of the Governor address on Friday after a discussion concluded in which 33 assembly members joined.

Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh replying to the debate said that his government would start a Rs 1500 pension for all the women of the state on February 26, 2024, and all the women who are getting Rs 400 Indira Saman Rashi would be paid Rs 1500 now. The chief minister said that he would make other announcements to fulfill others’ guarantee and opposition members should not wait to know about these for so long.

He said that 14 months ago he joined the charge of state government and was transferred to empty coffers. The state was facing lawfulness, repentance of corruption questions papers of recruitment were being sold and employees were on the roads seeking restoration of the Old Pension Scheme.

He said that in the past year government fulfilled the demands of the old pension scheme benefiting 1.36 lakh employees and He knows that 12 percent DA is pending with the government which would not take long time for the government to release as the state has succeeded to get increased in the state revenue by adopting financial prudence.

Members of the council day and night are giving suggestions to increase resource mobilization. He said members of the council not only proposed to improve the state revenue but also agreed to pay more charges to Himachal  Bhavan in Chandigarh and New Delhi as his government hiked charges of state guest house and other properties outside the state from Rs 200 to 1200 and it was also increased the charges of guest houses and state hospitality units.

 CM said that a tentative date of March 31, 2026, was declared making the state green by adopting green energy, six green corridors are being proposed, and six charging stations. He said that from Kiratpur Manali green corridor  17 charging stations are already set up and 13 others are coming soon.

Rs 659 Cr E-taxi scheme under Rajiv Gandhi startup scheme was proposed and out of 1239 applications sanctioned was given to 598 applications.

He said that if the Youth of the state wanted to buy a Rs 10 lakh electric cab state would be provided Rs five lakh assistance. To provide income sources to such beneficiaries government also decided to hire 100 electric taxis to be adopted in the Government department which would save state revenue and not be forced to provide extra driving staff.

Accusing the Modi government at the centre Chief minister said that the state suffered historical loss or damage in the monsoon as  3500 houses were damaged and  13000 others were partly damaged in Natural disasters. 

About 15000 vehicles stranded in the rain-affected roads were cleared within 48 hrs. He said that the government is not indulging in taking a U-turn on each decision and the government is trying to change the system under Vyavastha Parivartan.

 He said that BJP members would be asked by the people why they were not helping the state to come out from the rain disaster. 

He said that a total of 17631 new job avenues were created by the government. Under special Revenue courts drive in the state 90000 pending mutations were completed.

 The farmers who had been affected by the rain and apple growers who were helpless were facilitated by opening the road immediately. 

In 14 months government has not charged us with any major corruption charges. During their rule, they did not conduct the probe into the police recruitment paper leak case but they conducted another exam. The Government is going invest more in tourism as after the Rehabilitation of affected people in Gaggal airport the expansion work will start soon. Kangra was declared the tourism capital of Himachal Pradesh. In Palampur a helicopter of Rs 13 Cr. The foundation stone of Central University was laid with the help of Rs 300 core as the chief minister said that he met with Dharmendra Pradhan to release the pending funds for the University. 

Opposition benches disrupted the proceeding when the Chief Minister was replying and after some time walked out from the house unsatisfied with the Chief Minister’s reply.
