Baisakhi fair will be celebrated with great enthusiasm from 13 to 15 April
The famous and traditional district-level Baisakhi fair of Sirmaur district will be celebrated with great enthusiasm in Nehru Ground of Rajgarh from April 13 to April 15. This information was given by SDM Rajgarh and Chairman Mela Samiti Rajkumar Thakur while presiding over the meeting organized on Wednesday regarding the fair preparations. Let us tell you that since time immemorial, a fair has been organized in Rajgarh every year on the occasion of Baisakh Sakranti in the name of Shirgul, the presiding deity of this region. SDM said that on April 13, as per tradition, worship will be done in the temple of Shirgul Devta in Rajgarh on Baisakh Sakranti. After that, the Shobha Yatra of the palanquin of the deity will be taken out in the fair in which hundreds of people will participate. He said that local artists would be prioritized in all the fair’s three cultural evenings. Apart from this, famous artists of the state will also be invited. He said that a huge wrestling competition will be organized on the last day of the fair in which famous wrestlers of North India will participate. He said that swings and developmental exhibitions will also be set up for the entertainment of the people in the fair. Apart from this, a souvenir will also be published. He instructed the officials to make all the necessary arrangements, including electricity and water, in addition to law and order in the fair. He said that sub-committees are being formed for the smooth organization of the fair.
SDM said that adequate funds are absolutely necessary for the successful organisation of the fair. He requested all the members of the committee to generously contribute towards the organisation of the fair so that like the previous years, this year too the fair can be organised in a better manner.
Tehsildar Umesh Sharma, President of Nagar Panchayat Jyoti Sahni, Councilor Suman Chauhan, and officials of the Fair Committee, Vikram Thakur, Vivek Sharma, Dinesh Arya, Pariksha Chauhan, along with other members of the committee and representatives of various departments, participated in the meeting.
