Baba Eleven Cheekar won a cash prize of Rs 81,000 in the cricket competition

Baba Eleven Cheekar of Junga tehsil won the title of the first Bhuteshwar Maharaj Cricket Tournament held at Dharoli in Nei-Neti Panchayat of Sirmaur border. In the final match of the tournament, Baba Eleven Cheekar defeated Peeran Try by 8 wickets. Kamdhenu Paints’ Regional Manager and social worker of the area Nihal Rapta attended the closing ceremony of the tournament as the chief guest. He presented a cash prize of Rs 81 thousand to the winning team Baba Eleven Cheekar on behalf of Kamdhenu family.
In his address, Nihal Rapta urged youth and children to stay away from mobile phones and drugs and actively participate in sports. He congratulated the organizers for the successful event and urged them to ensure women’s participation in next year’s competition. He stated that if a tug-of-war competition for women is held next year, he will donate ₹31,000 to the winning team and ₹21,000 to the runner-up. Batting first in the final, Peeran Try scored 64 runs for the loss of 5 wickets in their allotted 8 overs. Sudhir contributed 17 runs and Tanu 12 runs. In response, Baba Eleven Cheekar achieved the target for the loss of only 2 wickets, winning the match by 8 wickets. Arun scored an unbeaten 26 for Baba Eleven Cheekar, while Vicky contributed 15 runs and Rohit 12 runs.
