Auckland House School for Boys Celebrates Senior Section Speech Day and Year-End Award Ceremony
Auckland House School for Boys celebrated its Senior Section Speech Day and Year-End Award Ceremony with great pride and enthusiasm. The event was graced by the Honourable Chief Guest, Ms. Satwant Atwal Trivedi, IPS, Director General of Police, Himachal Pradesh Prisons and Correctional Services, an alumna of Auckland House School for Girls, whose distinguished career continues to inspire generations.
The ceremony commenced with the lighting of the lamp, followed by the Head Boy’s Report and the Principal’s Annual Report presented by Mr. Reuben T. John. In his address, the Principal highlighted the school’s academic innovations, such as redesigned report cards for Senior School, the adoption of Phenomenon-Based Learning (PhBL), and faculty training under the International Award for Young People (IAYP). He emphasized that education at Auckland House equips boys not only with knowledge but also with resilience, character, and purpose.
The Variety Entertainment Programme showcased a wide range of student talents, including English and Hindi plays, choir performances, dance recitals, instrumental music, and a poignant patriotic recital. The programme began with the Opening Hymn “As the Deer Pants”, while other notable performances included the Senior Choir’s “Rasputin,” UPD Choir’s “Five Hundred Miles” and “O Sussana”, the English Play “The Apple”, the Hindi Play ‘Sapnon Ki Udaan’, and vibrant dances such as Bihu and Bhangra. The piano recital by Varchasav Shyam was quite melodious while the Band created a vibrant atmosphere with its beats.
Ms. Satwant Atwal Trivedi, in her inspiring address, urged students to uphold courage, discipline, and service to the nation. She drew from her own career to remind students of the power of perseverance and integrity. She also expressed her deep appreciation for the efforts of the Principal, faculty, and students, praising the holistic education imparted at Auckland House. She lauded the school’s commitment to nurturing excellence in academics, co-curricular pursuits, and sports, and commended the creativity and discipline reflected in the day’s performances.
The event also featured the prize distribution ceremony, honouring excellence in academics, co-curricular activities, and sports. Highlights from the year included the school’s achievements in volleyball, shooting, cycling, and athletics, with boys excelling at both state and national levels.
The event concluded with the National Anthem, leaving students and parents inspired to aim higher and live by the school’s enduring motto: Altiora Peto — I Seek Higher Things.
