Auckland House School For Boys Celebrates Junior Annual Day with Splendid Cultural Performances
Auckland House School for Boys, Shimla, celebrated its Junior Section Annual Day with great enthusiasm and vibrancy. The Chief Guest for the occasion was Shri Ashish Kohli, IAS, Director of School Education, Himachal Pradesh, who commended the institution for nurturing confidence, discipline, and creativity among its young learners.
The program began with a solemn prayer, followed by a series of engaging cultural performances that included hymns, skits, and dances. Highlights included “Trust and Obey”, “It’s a Jungle Out There”, “Dhol Jageero Da”, “School Chale Hum”, “Padharo Mare Desh” and “Rhythm of India”. The colorful presentations showcased the rich cultural heritage of India while reflecting the spirit, imagination, and joy of the children.
On this occasion, the Principal, Mr. Reuben T John, presented the Annual Report 2025. In his address, he remarked that the past session had been a celebration of learning and growth, with every child finding a place and a voice. He noted that from March to September, the school introduced new curriculum-aligned books with a strong focus on phonics, making reading both easy and joyful. Festivals such as Holi and Himachal Day were celebrated with rhythm, tradition, and creativity, while picnics and nature walks encouraged curiosity and appreciation of the environment.
He recalled how the months of June to August were filled with enriching activities — a magic show that brought laughter and wonder, elocution that built confidence in public speaking, clay molding that nurtured imagination, and dry cooking that encouraged self-help and healthy eating. Yoga and Falun Dafa, he added, taught mindfulness, balance, and concentration. The highlight of the term, he shared, was the August exhibition “World Within Words”, where each class, from Nursery to Form II, brought alive stories, rhymes, fables, and myths, delighting parents with creativity and clarity of expression.
Mr. John also underlined the value of the Parent Volunteer Programme, held in May and September, which strengthened the bond between home and school.
The Chief Guest, Shri Kohli, lauded the school for providing a holistic educational environment and appreciated the efforts of the management, faculty, and parents. The celebrations concluded with the Prize Distribution Ceremony, the Chief Guest’s address, and the singing of the National Anthem.
