Auckland House School for Boys Annual Exhibition “World Within Words” Captivates with Creativity

Auckland House School for Boys hosted its Annual Exhibition “World Within Words”, which turned into an extraordinary celebration of literature, creativity, and imagination. Far from being a routine exhibition, the event transported visitors into a wonderland where stories, characters, and ideas came alive.

Students enthralled audiences with enactments of timeless tales like The Thirsty Crow, Humpty Dumpty, King Midas’ Golden Touch, Alice in Wonderland, and Gulliver’s Travels. A puppet show on Tenalirama showcased wit and wisdom, while adaptations of Malgudi Days highlighted how screen versions bring literature closer to the masses. Comic strips inspired by Harry Potter, acts from The Diary of a Young Girl and Letters from War, and mythological characters such as Medusa added depth, addressing themes of humanity, existentialism, and the futility of conflict. Scene from Ramyan’s Ashok Vatika was also enacted bringing students close to the roots.

The dioramas on display captivated everyone, drawing admiration for their detailing and imaginative presentation. They served as visual gateways into different literary worlds, making the connection between books and imagination even more profound.

The exhibition also featured interactive segments like the Puzzle Corner, Story Sequence Challenge, and Author-Work Match, ensuring that learning and fun went hand in hand.

Chief Guest Shri SN Joshi lauded the efforts of the students and teachers, describing the exhibition as “a journey into a wonderland of imagination and not just a regular display.”

Adding to the collaborative spirit, other schools from Shimla including Loreto Convent, Laureate Public School, Students of St. Bede’s College also visited the exhibition, making the event an enriching exchange of creativity and ideas among young learners.

Shimla, August 25 – Auckland House School for Boys organised its annual exhibition “World Within Words” which turned out to be a unique celebration of literature, imagination and creativity. This exhibition was not just an ordinary event but took the visitors to a wonderful world where stories, characters and ideas came alive.

The students enthralled everyone by staging classics like The Thirsty Crow, Humpty-Dumpty, King Maida’s Golden Touch, Alice in Wonderland and Gulliver’s Travels. The puppet play based on Tenali Rama presented a beautiful blend of wit and humour, while the staging of Malgudi Days showed that literary characters come even more alive on screen.

The presentation of Harry Potter inspired comic strips, The Diary of a Young Girl and Letters from War gave the message of humanity and futility of war. By enacting the Ashok Vatika scene from Ramayana, the students tried to connect with their Indian roots.

The dioramas displayed at the exhibition mesmerized everyone with their intricate details and imaginative presentation. Interactive segments like Puzzle Corner, Story Sequence Challenge and Author-Composition Matching presented a beautiful amalgamation of learning and entertainment.

Chief Guest Shri S.N. Joshi while appreciating the students and teachers described the exhibition as “a wonderful journey of imagination and much more than an ordinary exhibition”.

Further strengthening this spirit of participation, students from other schools of Shimla – Loreto Convent, Laureate Public School and St. Bede’s College also visited the exhibition, making it a rich exchange of creative ideas.
