As Himachal did not declare Lumpy disease a disaster the Center denies compensation 

Himachal Pradesh Government stated today that the central government did not compensate for the loss of livestock due to Lumply disease as the state did not declare the outbreak disaster. 

This was stated by Animal Husbandry Minister Chander Kumar who was replying to a supplementary query of  Malinder Rajan (Congress) in the state assembly on Monday. 

Replying to a query in the question hour, the Minister said that the issue was raised by the state with the center and Union Government had informed the state that declaring Lumpy disease as a disaster was within the preview of the respective state; however the state did not issue any notifications and the state could not be compensated. 

Minister informed that the center assisted other states who had declared Lumpy disease but since the state did not issue such notification during the peak of the outbreak, Earlier replying to a query raised by the Vinod 

Sultanpur( Congress-Kasauli) Minister said that App is being prepared to rope in the Public works department, Panchayat, MC, and Police department to coordinate the rescue operation of injured and diseased animals during road mishaps in the state. 

In another reply to a query raised by Nand Lal( Rampur-Congress), the Agriculture minister informed that during the last Kharif season, the department provided various fertilizers tune to75000 metric tons and  50,000 mt in Rabi Season. He said that 115 mt of demand for NPK was from the farmers which had been supplied. He assured the member that if farmers would demand more NPK and other fertilizer departments would be made available.
