Appoint a teacher in Chikhar school within 15 days otherwise there will be agitation : Dr. Tanwar
48 children with the help of one teacher in school
Junga (Shimla). Due to the shortage of teachers in the Government Primary School Chikhar of Mashobra Block for the past few years, the Kisan Sabha and the local people have given an ultimatum to the government that if the education department does not appoint a teacher in this school within 15 days, then the Kisan Sabha along with the local people will stage a sit-in protest outside the Directorate of Education.
State President of Kisan Sabha, Dr. Kuldeep Tanwar held a meeting with the local people in Chikhar on Sunday in which this decision was taken. Let us tell you that 48 children are studying in this school and only one teacher is working to teach these children for the last few years. He said that the government has closed a large number of schools and the government always sings the tune of rationalization. Despite this, no teacher has been appointed in this remote school for the last two years.
People say that when teachers go on leave, sometimes teachers on deputation are assigned to the school and the children play all day. They said that this year, admission of small children for pre-primary classes is going to take place next month, due to which the number of children in this school will increase. Last year, the number of children in this school was 62. Apart from this, due to the absence of science and commerce subjects in Government Senior Secondary School Chikhar Satlai, children have to go to Shimla or Junga, due to which children of poor families are deprived of studying subjects of their interest.
Block Primary Education Officer Mashobra Ram Swaroop Sharma said that filling up the vacant posts is the prerogative of the higher officials. Every month, the information about the vacant posts is sent to the department by this office.
