Apathy of local MLA & Govt confines to plaque

The apathy of Local MLA Anirudh Singh and BJP Government confines to Government files and raising plaques as the people of Dublu area of Junga Tehsil of Kasumpti assembly were deprived from the road communications for centuries.

The Local residents of Dablu was facing the apathy of subsequent Governments and local MLA as area were being neglected for decades did not have proper road, bridges and other communications to transport vegetable, produces and patients to get good services in the capital town.

A big plaques mocking inauguration  as a bridge was conceived by the officials confined  to ‘Sarkari’ files, they lament .The area is utterly neglected and cut of from the mainstream development in the state despite being peripheral of the state capital town.

The state celebrating golden jubilee celebration of Foundation of Himachal , however this village remind us the British Rajday  when people carry the folks and patients on Behingi to bring them to the hospital. The area remained neglected as successive parties and most politicians ignored the developmental works and did not paid any heed to beyond laying stone for inaugurations. The people feel cheated as  they were allured by the politicians just to lay foundation stones even without sanctioning of the project.

The plaque and foundation stones are only ‘displays’ for the sake self interest of ruling party leaders as keep on mocking people by counting their numbers to garner votes each time laying stones and making cherry promises each time.

The burning example of negligence is that a 75m span bridge was planned to connect Dublu area in Junga tehsil of the district with Pachhad tehsil of Sirmour region, the foundation stone was laid by former Chief Minister Prem Kumar Dhumal.

The local PRI representatives told us that the project was founded without taking sanction which was still pending in the departmental files.

A decade has passed since laying  foundation on August 20, 2012. This has evidently just about barely 4 months before the Vidhan Sabha polls.

By all means, the then government would have known about the status of sanctions regarding the said project.

Now they went ahead weaving the dream for development or change among the people living in the area.

The objective behind such a move could be anybody’s guess.

“In case my aunt has to visit us from Shargaon, then the motor-able option is too long.

She has to drive through ‘Gaura’ village commuting a distance of 43 kms to reach here,” informed Ramesh, a local farmer from Khall village.  Adding,” Whereas if the bridge was made then this distance would have been reduced to 8 kilometers only.” Currently, as part of routine, locals commute to both sides, cross the Giri river by foot and then take a transport to reach their destination(s).

This bridge work suffered a double plight. Firstly the foundation stone was laid prior to approval and then the government which wanted to construct the project, lost the polls.

The new government was of the opposition, and perhaps this was not the only project which got delayed in the infamous ‘Dhumal vs Virbhadra’ rivalry.  The Central University in Kangra case is not just the only isolated example of how political rivalries can delay a genuinely needed project.

The objective of this bridge is to connect Shargaon in Pacchad panchayat of Sirmour region to the main road by the shortest connection. The same will also connect remote Sirmour village with Balog  panchayat of mashobra block.

The authorities and ruling party leaders of the area now state that a detailed project report has been prepared and sent to the government for approval. Perhaps before the 2022 polls, people like Ramesh would  be able to save both money and time, to reach out to their loved ones on the other side of the river.

Millions of such delayed projects are heard, seen, reported every second, not only in the hill state, but the entire Nation, but yet, the precedent has never stopped to give way to authentic development.
