Anurag Thakur met Home Minister Shri Amit Shah, expressed gratitude for the quick assistance to flood-affected Himachal

Union Minister for Information Broadcasting and Youth and Sports Shri Anurag Singh Thakur met Union Home Minister Shri Amit Shah in Delhi today and expressed his heartfelt gratitude for the quick assistance to the flood-affected Himachal Pradesh due to heavy rains.

After meeting the Union Home Minister, Shri Anurag Thakur said, “Himachal Pradesh, which is facing natural calamity, has suffered a lot due to heavy rains. Till now around 88 people have tragically died. Roads and bridges have been destroyed and destroyed. People’s personal, private properties like houses and shops have also been badly damaged. It will take a long time to recover from all this. Today I met the Union Home Minister respected Mr. Amit Shah to discuss the situation in Himachal Pradesh and expressed my gratitude to Himachal Pradesh for his quick help. The way Home Minister deployed 12 teams of NDRDA without losing time for relief and rescue work in Himachal, it shows his sensitivity towards Devbhoomi. As far as financial assistance is concerned, the Union Home Ministry has released the first installment of Rs 180.40 crore to the state government, which will be used for relief and rehabilitation works. I expressed my gratitude for all the help done by him for Himachal and have requested for all possible help in future.

Speaking further, Shri Anurag Thakur said, “The Central Government is keeping a close watch on the situation in Himachal Pradesh. I am also going on a three-day tour of Himachal Pradesh. After inspecting the flood-affected areas, I will meet the rain-affected people, share their pain and try to get all possible help from the government and come back again as Home Minister. Will hand over the ground report .
