Another wet weather spell from November 26 to 28 in Himachal
Another Wet weather spell of rain in the downstream regions and snowfall on high reaches of Himachal Pradesh was predicted by Met. Office here today.
In weather bulletin issued by Shimla Meteorological Department predicted major spell of rain or snowfall from 26st to 28th November 2023.
The Met Office spokesperson issuing forecast & weather advisory for the State of Himachal Pradesh for next week stated that two back to back Western Disturbances going affect the state from midnight of December 25 till November 28 and another WDs are affecting weather from November 30 also.
Rain and snowfall likely to commence from 26th and 28 November with light intensity and isolated distribution in high and mid hills and light to moderate snowfall at isolated places in the mid and high hills of the State.
The State likely to have light to moderate rain or snowfall in few places all over the state on November 27.
Yellow alert of rain, lightening and thunderstorms also issued in isolated places in all the state barring Kinnaur and Lahaul Spiti district.
IMD also forecast light to moderate snowfall likely to occur in the higher parts of Lahaul Spiti, Kinnaur, Kullu, Mandi, Chamba, Kangra and Shimla.
State Administration and public at large may take adequate safety measures in the light of above forecast.
Maximum and Minimum temperatures are likely to decrease by 2 to 4 degrees from 27th November.
Take adequate safety measures. Avoid exposure during morning and evening hours in hilly areas of the state. Disruptions of essential services viz. water and electricity, communications and related services in Kinnaur, Lahul-Spiti, Chamba, Kangra, Shimla and Kullu. Traffic congestion is very likely in these areas in view of expected snowfall .Visibility Conditions very likely to decrease in State and National Highways and valleys in hilly regions of the State in view of low level clouds/ foggy conditions during this period.
District Administration in District, Kinnaur, Lahual & Spiti, Kullu, Chamba and Kangra are advised to be keep watch in order to minimize disruptions of essential services and also on movements of Tourists in view of expected bad weather conditions in Himachal Pradesh from 26th to 28th Nov 2023.
In advisories and guidelines issued by the concerned departments for farmers and milk producers that livestock proper should be done to protect them from Cold. The Poultry should be fed properly in order to maintain normal temperature. Temperature fall due to precipitation may impact milk production; therefore farmers are advised to make the arrangements for protection of cold for the livestock.
