Animated series on Dalai Lama’s teachings on his 90th Birthday
A Joyful Celebration of Wisdom and Kindness
As the world honors the 90th birthday of His Holiness the Dalai Lama, the Tibetan government-in-exile is marking the occasion with a heartfelt gift for its youngest generation. During the vibrant Ghoton celebration, the Department of Education unveiled two new children’s video songs that pay tribute to the spiritual leader’s life and legacy — “His Holiness and His Family” and “May His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama Live Long.”
Teaching Values Through Animation
The celebration didn’t stop at music. The department also premiered the first two episodes of a new animated series inspired by the Dalai Lama’s 10 core teachings. Episode One, Saving Lives, and Episode Two, Returning Found Items, bring timeless values to life through colorful storytelling and relatable characters. These episodes — part of a growing collection now available on the department’s official YouTube channel — aim to nurture empathy, honesty, and responsibility in young minds.
Blending Tradition with Innovation
More than just entertainment, these creative efforts are part of a broader educational mission. The Department of Education sees these songs and animations as powerful tools to strengthen language skills, deepen cultural roots, and promote moral development. By weaving traditional Tibetan values into modern formats, the initiative hopes to spark compassion, curiosity, and holistic growth among children.
This celebration of the Dalai Lama’s milestone birthday is more than a tribute — it’s a promise to carry forward his teachings of kindness and wisdom into the hearts of future generations.
