An Avalanche close Udaipur-Mayat road

After very heavy snowfall in the high reaches of Lahaul Spiti district of Himachal Pradesh fourth Avalanches occurred in the district on Monday blocked Udaipur-Mayar three kilometre long road, senior officer of district public works department said 
Assistant Engineer Udaipur informed district administration Lahaul-Spiti that an incident of avalanche occurred today morning on Udaipur- Mayar valley route at 3 km towards Mayar due to which road has been closed.
 Clearance of road  would be undertaken after a safety survey by PWD Department at some of the avalanche prone areas.
It is worthwhile to mention here that it is fourth Avalanches have hit the district in last one week after very heavy snowfall in the high reaches. District administration have sounded alert of Avalanche yesterday.
Vehicular traffic on Manali-ATR-Keylong road is also off as four to five feet thick layer of snow mounted on the road.
BRO has cleared NH 003 from ATR to Teling Nallah, Tandi to Dalang army camp and upto 2 km from Solang towards Dhundhi on Monday however. All weather road passing through ATR couldn’t restored for vehicular traffic and still closed for all type of vehicles.
Power Supply is affected in many places in the state and State Electricity Board official confirmed that 1130 distribution Transformer Regions are still affected as due to heavy snowfall it is not feasible to restore affected power span knockdown by heavy snowfall. Power supply couldn’t restored in 489 Regions of Dalhousie circle 239 in Shimla circle and 159 region in Rohru circle.
