Among Sukhu or Mukesh now top contender for Cong Vidyak Dal

Central Congress observors are trying to draw opinion of newly elected legislative party group at Cecil hotel here till this afternoon as choice of two top contender now lyies between Cong campaign committee in-charge Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu and Leader of Opposition (in previous Vidhan sabha) Mukesh Agnihotri. Party legisltors who are touch with us informed that Hollylodge contestent for CM post did not figure among top contenders as party are ready to face Vidhansabha poll for inducting Pratibha Singh but central observes did not want to risk Mandi Paramilitary seats and which required subsequent bye election for Mandi loksabha seat. However newly elected legislative group also met at Congress office Rajivbhavan here yesterday but the party could not draw consenses on any single face. Party legisltors said that proposal was brought before them to chose between Pratibha Singh and Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu. The party MLAs were divided on choice of either leaders. Mukesh Agnihotri proposed a single line resolution empowering party high command to elect new CM face and party Vidyak Dal leader which was seconded by Pratibha Singh and Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu and supported by all 40 MLAs by raising their hands. It was latest developments on the constant communication with top AICC leaders that elected MLAa spell out their choices between Sukhu and Mukesh Agnihotri. Central observors are discussing leadership issue one to one in the Cecil till this afternoon. Congress have won 40 seats in 14 general assembly elections ended on November 12. Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu and Mukesh Agnihotri have equal number of MLAs with them and some of them left the choice of leader on the wisdom of AICC. The consultation on the leadership happening in peacefull and dignified manner.
