Always dedicated to protecting the rights of Himachal: Anurag Singh Thakur
Anurag Singh Thakur celebrated Himachal Day with great pomp with the Himachali community in Delhi
15 April 2025, New Delhi/ Himachal Pradesh: Former Union Minister and Member of Parliament from Hamirpur Lok Sabha constituency, Shri Anurag Singh Thakur, while celebrating the Himachal Day program organized at Shri Lal Bahadur Shastri Sanskrit University in Delhi on the occasion of Himachal Day today with great pomp, said that Dev Bhoomi Himachal is the pride of all of us and I am always dedicated to protecting the interests of Himachal.
Shri Anurag Singh Thakur said, “Hearty congratulations to all the people of the state on Himachal Day, the culturally rich and Devbhoomi, the land of the unique beauty of nature, the holy land of the gods, the land of valor of the heroes. I wish that our incomparable Himachal becomes the leading state of the country, and the overall development and progress of the state. Today we are celebrating the 78th foundation day of Himachal Pradesh. But the history of this snow state is thousands of years old. Himachal has existed ever since the Himalayas existed. Himachal and the Himalayas complement each other.
When we talk of Vedas and Puranas, we get the description of our Him Pradesh. Palampur in Himachal is the place where BJP passed the resolution of building a grand temple in Ayodhya in the national convention held in 1989 and our Himachal has been a witness to that resolution till its accomplishment. Children are not born in our Himachal, future soldiers of the country are born in our Himachal. We have only one dream that we grow up and join the army and serve the country. From Paramveer to Mahavir and Yudhveer, you will find such heroes in every house of Himachal who have set an example of bravery and patriotism. On the occasion of Himachal Day, I salute all those Yudhveers who are not among us today.
Shri Anurag Singh Thakur said, “Just like the high mountains of Himachal, a mountain of debt has been created on the state due to the economic mismanagement of the Congress government in the state.
We have set a target of developing India by 2047 and we are rapidly moving ahead in this direction. Along with this resolution of developed India, we also have a resolution of developed Himachal. In the current budget, the central government has given Himachal 11,806 crore rupees as special grant. Between 2014 and 2024, Modiji’s government has provided a total assistance of 54,662 crore rupees to Himachal so far. Last year, when a natural disaster struck Himachal, the central government immediately provided 1782 crore rupees in assistance. Under the rural road scheme, 2,372.59 crore rupees were approved for 254 road projects of 2,700 kilometers. Apart from this, Rs. 1000 crore was given under MNREGA, Rs. 200 crore from Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, Rs. 403 crore from NDRF, Rs. 360 crore from SDRF. This is the assistance that was provided immediately. Later, the Centre provided financial aid to Himachal to overcome this disaster. Modi ji has considered Himachal as his second home and has always been committed to bringing the flow of development here. On this auspicious occasion, let us pledge to contribute to the continuous development of Devdhara by reiterating our resolve to preserve our folk culture and glorious heritage while maintaining mutual harmony.
