Alliance Air schedules a new Amritsar -Shimla flight from November 16 at Rs. 1990 per passenger
This hill state is likely to improve its air connectivity as another air flight is going commissioned between the Sikh Shrine city Amritsar and the queen of the hills Shimla with effect from November 16.
Top Officials of Air Alliance confirmed that its inaugural flight would start from November 16 . Recently Himachal Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu announced the Amritsar -Manali and Amritsar-Shimla Air alliance flight. Amritsar -Manali flight has been operating since October 1 and Amritsar Shimla is now scheduled from November 16.
The Flight would be operated on Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday thrice a week and it would depart from Shimla to Amritsar at 0810hrs and arrive at Amritsar at 910am. It would depart from Amritsar on the same day at 0935bhrs and arrive at Shimla at 1035hrs. According to an official release, the fare would be only Rs 1990 per passenger.
This would be the fifth regular flight to Himachal Pradesh and the state would slowly come on the Air map of the country.
Shimla Airport which remained without flights from 2008 to 2022 was brought on the Air flight service map by this airline now committed to running two new services from Amritsar to Manali which was already kicked off but another Amritsar -Shimla flight couldn’t be scheduled from today as per the announcement made by the Chief Minister Sukhwinder Sukhu.
CM Sukhu had announced to start of flights between Amritsar to Kullu and Amritsar to Shimla under the UDAN scheme in the last week of September.
The Chief Minister had said that there will be flights between Shimla-Amritsar three days a week. In order to promote tourism, up to 50 percent discount on fares was to be given to the passengers on these flights.
AA is already operating Delhi Shimla flight on a daily basis which is also linked with Shimla -Manali and Shimla-Dharmshala thrice in a week on alternate days.
