World famous photographer Alexander Khimushin meets DC Lahaul Spiti,To doccument the rich culture of the region

Alexander Khimushin, the creator of The World In Faces Photo Project, visited Deputy Commissioner Rahul Kumar in Lahoul Spiti today. The internationally renowned ethno-photographer announced his plans to document Lahoul Spiti’s unique culture, traditions, lifestyle, art, and music through his photography.

Deputy Commissioner Rahul Kumar highlighted that Alexander Khimushin’s work, which focuses on traditional cultures, has gained global recognition. As a photography artist, Khimushin adheres to two core principles: promoting and protecting traditional cultures for humanity’s betterment and fostering mutual respect and understanding among diverse cultures to create a peaceful and harmonious world. The World In Faces project has been showcased twice at the United Nations in New York and Geneva, as well as at UNESCO in Paris and the European Council in Strasbourg. The project has also held numerous exhibitions worldwide, covering 98 countries over many years.

Alexander Khimushin aims to create a diverse and inspiring collection of photographs in Spiti. Deputy Commissioner Rahul Kumar encourages the local community to support Khimushin in his esteemed work as an honored guest.
