AIMTC in support to HP Truckers, Chakka Jam Agitation

All India Motor Transport Congress today extended its support to Himachal Based Truck Unions for Chakka Jam Agitation in the Himachal Pradesh .

AIMTC  Chairman  Kultaran Singh Atwal announced unilateral support to the Transporters fraternity in Himachal Pradesh who are waging a genuine fight against the Adani Company owned Cement Plants at  Barmana and Darlaghat which are closed by the management over freight issue .

He said that the new managment of these cement plants controlled by Adani Group is taking unrealistic and adamant attitude over freight issue and added that company is hell vent to exploit the transporters in order to maximise its profit and the unilateral step of the company for closures of cement plants has affected the one lakh families in the small hill state in himachal pradesh .

 He said that the Adani Group Should have invited the Trucker’s Body for negotiation on freight charges and could have involved state govt and other stakeholders but it chose to shut up its plants in arms twisting attitude .

  Chairman Shri   Kultaran Singh Atwal said that it is general practice in the country to increase freights over input cost and petrol diesel hike but instead of hiking the freight charges the company is hell vent to reduce the freight charges which has never happened in this country so far .

He said the cost of input , operational cost , cost of fuel , pay of employees , toll tax , insurance taxes has been hiked in recent years and  freight should also be hiked in similar propotion .He requested the Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu to announce Package for Truck Operators and Others affected with closures of the cement plants and said that livelihood of truckes is in dangers in Present Circumstances . He also asked himachal pradesh govt to invoke emergency provisions and book Adani Group Management under relevent provisons of Law.
