AIIMS Bilaspur a den of corruption and loot : Ram Lal Thakur
Senior Congress leader and former minister Ram Lal Thakur has accused Union Health Minister Jagat Prakash Nadda of turning the AIIMS established in Bilaspur into a den of corruption and loot. He said that the AIIMS in Bilaspur is the gift of the then Prime Minister of the Congress government Dr. Manmohan Singh, and the then Chief Minister late Virbhadra Singh paved the way for its construction by giving land in Bilaspur.
Today, while addressing a press conference at the state Congress headquarters Rajiv Bhawan, Ramlal Thakur and former MLA Bamber Thakur fiercely targeted the BJP and said that its leaders are making absurd statements against the Congress to hide Nadda’s corruption inside and outside the House. He said that if we look at Nadda’s history and his previous work, it has been full of corruption.
Ram Lal Thakur, while giving information about the corruption happening in AIIMS, said that corruption is going on at a very large scale in AIIMS Bilaspur. He said that the tender of 19 crores for its security wall and the drinking water supply project of 47 crores from Kol Dam had been given to outsiders sitting in Delhi. Apart from this, the project of building construction of 278 crores has been given to an outside construction company without any tender. Surprisingly, a separate tender of 18 crores was issued for cutting the mountain and leveling it at this place and its Bhoomi Pujan was done by Nadda recently. He said that there is a sand mine here, and the contractor sold the sand extracted from here for 20 lakhs. Similarly, 25 crores were also spent on the plantation of trees, whose whereabouts are not known. He said that all limits of corruption have been crossed in its construction here. He said that the contractors of the state are being completely ignored by giving contracts to outsiders.
Ram Lal Thakur said that similarly, outsiders are being employed in the recruitment of cleaning staff, security guards, and other staff, and the salary given to them by the contractor is also shown as 15 to 18 thousand on paper,r and half of it is being given. He said that Nadda should explain how the tenders for the construction of AIIMS are being given to outsiders and who is making the appointments in Delhi.
