Agniveer Yojana is a big betrayal of the youth: Congress
Agriculture Minister Chaudhary Chandra Kumar and State Planning Board Vice Chairman Bhavani Pathania have said that Agniveer Yojana is a big joke and a complete fraud on the youth. There is a lot of discrimination being done between the common soldier and Agniveer. There is huge anger among the youth towards the central government due to Agniveer not getting the status of martyr. Now the youth are not excited to join the army. The craze of youth towards the army has decreased.
Chandra Kumar and Pathania said that the youth no longer feel secure about their future in the army. Earlier, youth used to work hard day and night for army recruitment. In the morning and evening, youth were seen running and practicing on the roadside and in sports grounds. Now only a few young people are seen. After recruitment, Agniveer is being discriminated against, he is not kept with the common soldiers, nor is he allowed to mix. Agniveer is discouraged by the fact that he is being kept in a separate barrack.
Agriculture Minister and State Planning Board Vice Chairman said that Agniveer is not getting the status of martyr for attaining martyrdom while serving the country. Nor are the family members able to get the benefits of ex-serviceman and canteen. Agniveer’s family will get only one crore rupees, whereas this is not the case with the common soldier. Along with the status of martyr, there is more financial assistance to the family of the soldier, till the completion of 15 years of service, the family gets full salary and many facilities.
He said that the Central Government and the BJP MPs of Himachal Pradesh should tell the youth why their future has been played with. Thousands of youth from Himachal Pradesh were recruited in the army, there are thousands of military families in Kangra, Hamirpur and Mandi districts, but after the implementation of Agniveer Yojana, BJP MPs did not raise the voice of the youth even once in the Parliament. He maintained silence. Instead of supporting the youth, he kept counting the benefits of Agniveer Yojana. Chandra Kumar and Bhavani said, BJP will have to answer to the youth as to why the doors of jobs in the army were closed for the youth. Why is there discrimination in giving martyr status? Because, there is a lot of anger among the youth and their families regarding the Agniveer scheme.
