A Thirst Quenched: How Water is Transforming Lives in Chintapurni

For the communities nestled in the Chintapurni region, a fundamental change is flowing through their villages and fields. Over the last three years, a sustained focus on water infrastructure is directly improving the daily lives of over 1.17 lakh residents, bringing not just convenience, but dignity, health, and opportunity.

From Vision to Reality

Under the Jal Shakti Mandal in Amb, a network of 210 villages, 59 gram panchayats, and a nagar panchayat are seeing their water woes addressed. Executive Engineer Hoshiyar Singh outlines the scale of the transformation: “We have completed developmental works worth ₹100 crore here, focusing on three pillars: clean drinking water for every home, reliable irrigation for every farm, and modern sewerage for a healthier environment.”

The projects read like a map of hope for the constituency: a ₹16 crore sewerage system in Shri Chintapurni, a ₹12 crore drinking water scheme for Sohari Takoli, and irrigation networks reviving agricultural land. Each figure translates to a tangible benefit—a child drinking safe water, a farmer watering his crops, a household freed from the burden of open drains.

More Than Just Numbers

The impact is best seen on the ground. Deputy Chief Minister Mukesh Agnihotri recently inaugurated the ₹4.15 crore Utau Payjal Scheme in Behad Jaswan. This single project now provides reliable, clean drinking water to approximately 2,700 people across seven villages, including Bagdu, Ghungrala, and Tyai.

“Our main goal is clear: ‘water to every farm, and water from every house tap,’” stated Agnihotri. “There will be no compromise in the development of this area, as public welfare is our central mantra.”

Echoing this sentiment, Chintapurni MLA Sudarshan Singh Bablu highlighted the pace of progress. “Development works worth ₹100 crore have been delivered in record time, giving new momentum to our region,” he said. “With an additional ₹100 crore proposed, we are committed to strengthening this foundation for widespread public benefit.”

A Ripple Effect of Development

This concentrated effort in Chintapurni is part of a larger wave, with about one thousand crore rupees being invested across Una district for water security. The work goes beyond infrastructure; it’s about building confidence, health, and a sustainable future.

As taps flow in homes and canals reach fields, the narrative in Chintapurni is shifting from scarcity to security, proving that when a government’s resolve meets a community’s need, the results can indeed be life-changing.
