A new library opened in Janedghat for the convenience of the youth
A new library was opened in Janedghat Panchayat House adjacent to Junga with the courtesy of PRO CBO Convergence Project Kerala. It was inaugurated by Block Development Officer Mashobra Ankit Kotia. He said that it is very important to have a library in the rural environment as talented youth have to go to the city to prepare for competitive exams. With the opening of this library, this facility will be available to the youth at their doorstep.
Daisy Raju, the mentor of this project, said that under the project, new furniture and new books written by good authors will also be made available in this library so that all kinds of reading material is available to the youth. She said that under the project, community development work is being done in all the panchayats of Mashobra block. Apart from this, many programs are being organized under this project in which especially the youth are being made aware about the ill effects of drugs so that the youth do not fall prey to drugs. She thanked the local panchayat for providing a room for this library.
Mentor Sunita Verma, Area Coordinator Praveen, local Panchayat head Ramruvarup, Deputy Head, Secretary, and heads of the nine surrounding Panchayats, representatives of Keylong Cluster, NRLM staff, LRP and women from various support groups participated in the program.
