A New Home for Heroes: SDRF Finds Permanent Base in Una to Speed Up Rescue Missions
In a move set to strengthen disaster response across the region, the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) is getting a new, permanent home. Following a recent state cabinet decision, the SDRF office will be relocated to the Skill Development Institute building in Palakwah, Haroli, with the shift targeted for completion by February 15, 2026.
The administrative process is now in full swing, with formal orders issued to coordinate between key departments—Disaster Management, General Administration, and the district administration of Una. This coordinated effort ensures the transition will be smooth and efficient.
For Deputy Chief Minister and local MLA Mukesh Agnihotri, this decision is a significant milestone. “The permanent deployment of the SDRF here will be a game-changer,” he said. “It will allow for faster, more effective relief and rescue operations not just in Una district, but in surrounding areas as well.”
Beyond the immediate operational benefits, the move is expected to bring a renewed sense of security to local residents and elevate Haroli’s role as a key administrative and developmental hub in the state’s disaster preparedness network.
