A major shake-up is on the cards in the Hamirpur district administration

With Sukhvinder Singh Sukhoo, the MLA from Nadaun already taking over as the Chief Minister of the state, a major shake-up seems to be on cards in various departments of the district right from the top to bottom.

On seeing the tough stand of the new Chief Minister for providing a neat and clean administration with zero per cent tolerance towards corruption, the Congress party leaders of the district have already framed the lists of the people to be shifted from here to remote areas as they ignored them( Congress leaders) when the BJP was in power.

Reports reaching here reveal that the axe may fall mainly on those working in the departments of Revenue, Police, Jail Shakti, Public works department and health department.

The working of the Jal Shakti department was already in clouds in the district and people were highly upset with the working of the department especially its senior officers who were close to the Jal Shakti minister, Mahinder Singh and his family.

Seeing the working style of the new Chief Minister, a number of officers and officials have started approaching those close to the Chief Minister so that they are not disturbed and given harsh punishment for their misdeeds during the BJP regime.

Since the new Chief Minister belongs to the Nadaun area of the district, the people living there are hopeful that their needs and aspirations will be fulfilled and they will be able to get whatever was promised to them by the Chief Minister during the elections.

Meanwhile, the district administration is gearing up the men and machinery for the coming visit of the Chief Minister to the district including his native assembly segment of Nadaun.

The PWD/Jal Shakti department officers have given orders to its staff to repair the roads in the Nadaun area and to set all the water supply schemes right so that no complaints were made to the Chief Minister by the local people about their bad condition.

On other hand, the construction work of the Dr Radha Krishnan Medical College-cum-Hospital at Rangas has started at a full pace so that it is completed in time. Sukhoo may inspect the work of the Medical College project as it is located on the Hamirpur-Nadaun highway and more over falls in his own assembly constituency.

Sunil Sharma “Bittu”, the political advisor to the Chief Minister told us that Hamirpur would get priority in the developmental activities and whatever was denied to the district by the previous BJP government due to infighting in their leadership will be restored by the new government.

He said that the Congress party was a party of the masses and would fulfil all the commitments it made to the people pre-Vidhan polls.
