A Joyful Homecoming: Dalai Lama Returns to Dharamsala
After nearly two months in Karnataka, the Tibetan spiritual leader, the Dalai Lama, returned to his residence in McLeodganj on Friday morning, greeted by heartfelt celebrations. His winter stay at the Drepung Gomang Monastery in Mundgod was filled with spiritual teachings, ceremonies, and audiences with thousands of devotees from India and abroad.
Following a brief stop in Delhi for medical check-ups and meetings, the Dalai Lama landed at Kangra airport, where senior leaders of the Central Tibetan Administration welcomed him with traditional honours. From the airport to the Tsuglagkhang monastery, the streets came alive with songs, dances, and the fragrance of burning juniper, as devotees lined the route offering khatas and incense.
During his Karnataka visit, the Dalai Lama addressed students, presided over a long-life prayer ceremony, and inaugurated the Gaden Jangtse Education Centre and Library—leaving behind a trail of spiritual inspiration. His return to Dharamsala marks not just a homecoming, but a moment of joy and renewal for the Tibetan community and followers worldwide.
