A Budget for Developed India and the Fulfillment of Youth Aspirations: Anurag Thakur
February 1, 2026, New Delhi: Former Union Minister and MP from Hamirpur Parliamentary Constituency, Shri Anurag Singh Thakur, has described the General Budget for FY 2026-27 presented by Finance Minister Smt. Nirmala Sitharaman as a budget that fulfills the goals of a Developed India and youth aspirations, calling it balanced and inclusive, benefitting every section of society.
Shri Anurag Singh Thakur said, “The NDA government under the leadership of Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi is committed to realizing the resolve of a Developed India, keeping the nation on a continuous path of progress. The Budget 2026-27 presented today by the Union Finance Minister, Smt. Nirmala Sitharaman, is a budget that fulfills the vision of a Developed India and youth aspirations. The inspiration of duty fulfillment in the budget presented by the Finance Minister is commendable. The three duties—economic sovereignty and growth, fulfilling people’s aspirations, and equitable distribution of resources—reflect the Modi government’s commitment to employment, development, and social security.”
Shri Anurag Singh Thakur said, “This budget further strengthens the foundation of a self-reliant and developed India, and will be highly effective in empowering the poor, women, youth, farmers, the middle class, and other needy groups. Under the leadership and guidance of Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, this budget is inclusive, comprehensive, and beneficial for every section. Reflecting the transformative journey of the Indian economy over the past 12 years, this budget of the Modi government will further accelerate the country’s economy and is a symbol of the new vision and new work culture of New India. Public Capital Expenditure has now increased to ₹12.2 lakh crore from ₹11.2 lakh crore last year, which is the foundation for making India an economy of the future.”
Shri Anurag Singh Thakur said, “The launch of the ‘Khelo India Mission’ to focus on the systematic development of training centers and trainers in the next decade will not only help grassroots sports talents to play, flourish, and excel but also the decisions to integrate sports science and technology, promote sports culture, organize competitions and leagues to provide a platform, and develop sports infrastructure for training and competition are praiseworthy. The budget has also highlighted and encouraged India’s Animation, Visual Effects, Gaming, and Comic (AVGC) sector as an industry, which will require 2 million professionals by 2030. The proposal in the Central Budget to establish an Indian Creative Technology Institute in Mumbai and set up AVGC content creators in 15,000 secondary schools and 500 colleges, which will further boost India’s Orange Economy, is also an appreciable step. Students in these labs will receive modern training in game design, animation, visual effects, and digital content production. New National Design Schools will also be opened to promote design education, which will provide institutional support to creative and technical design skills. The target is to provide employment opportunities to over 1 million professionals in the gaming and related creative industries.”
