5 die in rain-related mishap in the last 24 hrs in Himachal

As many as five people died and eight were stranded in rain-related incidents as 11 houses, one hotel, and one vehicle have been damaged by the increased rainfall that continue in the state over the last two days. According to the state disaster management authority state recorded the loss of five lives, 13 landslides, nine flash floods, and two firing incidents in the last 24 hrs. 

A landslide hit a house at village Modholi under the Kumersain subdivision at 0500 hrs today three people died from the debris of the house. A landslide also occurred at village Sari Chhaki mode at 0200 hrs on Saturday damaging six buildings, thirty persons are makeshift to labour colony. 

An incident of landslide occurred at village Lankabekar in Kulu district at 1926 hrs last night a woman was buried under the debris. The information received this morning said that one lady died in the landslide. In another flash flood mishap occurred water entered the house at Vridashram Sukhsagar in Dobhi in which six to seven person trapped. An incident occurred at Kakiyan Teshsil of Chamba district in which one person got buried in a landslide and found dead at 1930 hrs on Saturday. 

The landslide hit NH-3 at Droni Mod near Keylong, flash flood occurred three kilometers near Gramphu under police station Keylong as the road was washed away by the flash flood and an HRTC bus struck in the muck. A flash flood occurs in Kala Nallu near Shenur village of Udaipur in which the SKTT road gets blocked. A flash flood occurred at Pagal nalluh and  Two major landslides occurred on Manali- Leh highway near Baralacha and Sarchu basses disrupting vehicular traffic on NH-3. The rise of the water level disrupted NH-3 near Jispa. A flash flood also occurred between Gramphuon  Chota Dharra on NH505 ON THE sumo-Kaza -Gramphu road. In the Lahaul Spiti district Flash flood occurred at Shakoli Nullah at Miyar Valley disrupting the road to the valley. 

In Mandi district, heavy rainfall occurs at Pandoh Bazar flooding houses with the discharge of Pandho dam. The State Disaster Relief force team along with equipment was deployed at 0728hrs on Sunday carrying a rescue operation.  six persons including five males and one female and one handicapped have been rescued by the SDRF. The landslide has occurs on Mandi-Kamand Bajoura road at 1055 hrs today. 

Landslide also disrupted NH 707 at Gangtoli near Poanta Sahib, a Retaining wall collapsed at Happy Valley Deonghat, and the Government Senior Secondary School Chandi retaining wall collapsed in Soland district and closed Bhadhalag road. Road debris entered the house at Mauja Khakhron under Nalagarh in Solan district.
