48.63 pc turn out in Lok Sabha and 44.52 pc in bye-election till 1 pm
Polling began for four Lok Sabha and six bye-election of assembly in Himachal Pradesh at 0700 hrs on Saturday and after six hours moderate turnout registered in the state.
According to Chief Electoral officers, Manish Garag said that polling began in 7992 polling stations including 369 critical in which around 57.44 lakh registered voters in the state are eligible for the polling.
Tashigang world’s highest polling station has 62 voters at a height of 15526 ft.
Polling began on a mixed note in the Lok Sabha election register at around 48.63 pc and in the Vidhan Sabha bye-election, 44.52 pc turned up.
According to Election Commission in Shimla PC registered around 49.63 pc turn out, Hamirpur 47.70, pc, Mandi 50.44 pc & Kangra 47.08 pc till 1300 hrs in the first four hours.
In Lahaul Spiti district registers 55.35 pc voting, Gagret 44.63 pc, Sujanpur 42.03 pc, Kutlehar 49 pc, Dharmshala 41.14 pc, and Badsar 35 pc.
Chief Electoral Officer of Himachal Pradesh, Sh. Maneesh Garg exercised his right to vote today at the Mehli-4 62/84 polling station, reaffirming the significance of active participation in the democratic process.

According to the Election Commission Former Union minister cast his vote at Bharari polling stations at Shimla, Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu and his family at Nadaun, Deputy Chief Minister Mukesh Agnihotri at Haroli in Una district, Former Chief Minister PK Dhumal and his Union minister son Anurag Thakur along with entire family caste their votes at Sameerpur, Union Minister Shanta Kumar at Palampur, Former CM and his family at Chichyot, Public workers Development Minister Vikramaditya Singh at Rampur and BJP candidate and Bollywood actress Kangana Ranaut at Bhamla village of Sarkaghat Mandi at her ancestral house.
Including four candidates of BJP, Congress, and BSP 37 candidates are in the fray for Lok Sabha, and in the assembly bye-election including six candidates of BJP and Congress, 25 candidates are in the fray. In all 62 candidates are in fray on four Lok Sabha and six assembly bye election.
