Mr Pant said that  in its judgment on September 27, 2011 the Supreme Court on state petition  had directed the BBMB to raise Himachal Pradesh Share in Bhakhra Nangal Project from 2.5% to 7.19% with effect from 01-11-1966.  The court had also raised Himachal Pradesh’s share in Beas project -I from 15 MW to 5.752 p c  from the date of commissioning.  It had also raised the State share from nil to 2.984 p c in Beas project-II.

He  requested the Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu that now matter to be heard by Supreme Court on 14-03-2023  for compliance of its award. Pant appealed Chief minister to plead this matter effectively in the apex court again keeping its high financial implications in mind for the interest of state. Chief minister should take personal interest in the matter by  instructing legal and concerned officers of the state to release the award to state after taking final  decision of this case from Supreme Court at the earliest.  The excess of the amount could go a long way in meeting the financial requirement of the state and ease out the financial constrains of state especially  It will also be a big help to state newly elected Government to came out from debt trap, he added
