3 persons washed away in monsoon flash flood in Shimla District 

Three persons including a woman washed away last night after a flash flood hit Jogoti village of Diswani Gram Panchayat under Choraha under Rohru subdivision in the district. 

Police sources said that including a man and woman their grandson who run a food eatery at Choraha washed away by the flashflood after incessant rainfall in the Rohru subdivision. A resident of Jogoti village identified as Roshan Lal and her wife Bhaga Devi are missing along with their grandson Kartik. Three came in a spate of swollen Laila Rivult since last night.

The administration and rescue team is tracing the missing people who are reportedly washed away in the flash flood and may be buried in the muck. 

Normal life continues to be crippled in the entire state as 656 major roads and three National Highway are disrupted by the monsoon rains. According to the state disaster management authority NH 505 is blocked between Gramphu to Lossar in Lahaul Spiti district, NH-3 between Kullu and Manali, and NH707 near Shillai in Sirmaur district. The power supply is disrupted in 1673 transmission lines and water supply 376 schemes. The rain tolls mounted to 138 and 169 had been injured. According to state authorities, revenue loss tunes to state and private properties mounted above Rs 5000 Crore as 5616 houses, 1500 cowsheds, and 234 shops have been affected and fully damaged in the state.

The incidents of monsoon fury are pouring from different places of state however relief and restoration works are moving at a snail’s pace. The incessant rainfall further derail normal life in the last 24 hrs and basic facilities like water, power, communications, and transport were completely crippled in the state.
