23931 people employed in the State sector

Himachal Pradesh Government provide employment to as many as 23931 People in the state in last three years from 2018 to 2021.
This was stated by Chief minister Jai Ram Thakur in a reply of query raised by the Congress MLA, Mukesh Agnihotri, Ram Lal Thakur, Sukhvinder Singh Sukh and Jagat Singh Negi in the question hours in the state assembly.
Mr Thakur said as many as 7336 in Education department, 6253 in Health department, 2150 in state police, 957 in Himachal Pradesh Public Work Department,730 in Higher Education, 796 in Technical Education Department, 480 in Ayurveda and 395 in Forest Department.
 State government provided jobs to 1416 People belonged to SC and ST categories during the period.
He said in reply of another query that there is no proposal of Goverment to restore old pension scheme as New pension scheme is being given by Centre and all the state governments . 
He said that as many as 2000 Cr were required one time for starting Old pension scheme and Rs 500 crore recurring expenses to start the old pension scheme in the state.
