11 Mps of BJP from Himachal failed in their duty : Naresh Chauhan

Principal Advisor (Media) to Chief Minister Naresh Chauhan said that the BJP is proudly propagating the completion of 11 years of its government at the Centre but nothing has been done for the State.

It is worth mentioning here that there were 11 MPs of BJP from Himachal, but they failed in their duty completely to get the rightful claims of the Himachal Pradesh from the centre, may it be the NPS issue of the employees, or the package under ‘Aapda Rahat’ to provide relief and rehabilitate the disaster affected.  The MPs of BJP from Himachal have failed to raise concerns of the State.

He said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has repeatedly called Himachal as his second home and committed to promote tourism and horticulture here but nothing has been done on the ground. Instead of levying hundred percent import duty on foreign apple, the Prime Minister lowered import duty to 50 percent from the existing 75 percent. Similarly, he had committed that five percent natural fruit juice will be added in soft drinks to boost the income of local farmers and horticulturalists, but this promise has also fallen flat.

Naresh Chauhan accused the Union government of not giving any special financial assistance to the state for disaster relief to the tune of Rs. 10,000 crore and pointed out that the funds received by the state were part of centrally sponsored schemes on which the state has rightful claims. He blamed the MPs of BJP from Himachal for playing with the sentiments of the people of the State and enjoying the status, rather than doing something fruitful or pushing the interests of the State.

Even our long pending claims of BBMB have not been taken up, the plight of Pong Dam oustees is being ignored by the Union Government and the BJP leaders of the State were boasting of the achievements which are not visible on ground, especially in Himachal. It was the Chief Minister Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu who distributed land certificates to the pong dam oustees to address their concerns and has committed to provide land to others in a phased manner.

The Congress government led by Chief Minister Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu has benefited 1.36 lakh employees of the state by restoring old pension scheme whereas the central government stopped the grant of 16,000 crore to the State and failed to release amount of NPS of around Rs. 9000 crore which is rightful entitlement of the state.

He said that there is no grounds of celebration of 11 years of completion of the BJP led centre government as it has discriminated against Himachal Pradesh and its citizens.

Lashing out at the centre government, he said that the promises on the basis of which BJP government came to power in 2014 are still not addressed. The inflation and unemployment are the major issues which require immediate resolve. He questioned the commitment of Prime Minister to bring black money to strengthen the Indian economy. He said that the demonetization resulted in a massive disruption to the existing social, political and economic functions of the country.   He called on BJP leaders to take these matters up in Delhi and work for the betterment of the people of Himachal Pradesh.
