100 saplings planted in the name of ‘one tree for mother’ in Government College Chail-Koti
The National Service Scheme (NSS) unit organised a programme ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam 2.0’ today at Government College Chail-Koti. This programme is a laudable environmental initiative of the Central Government, which aims to promote environmental conservation while honouring motherhood.
On this occasion, the NSS unit of the college planted 100 saplings with the help of the forest department. All the volunteers participated enthusiastically and fulfilled their responsibility towards environmental protection.
The program was inaugurated by the Principal of the college, Dr. Deepshikha Bhardwaj. She motivated the students to participate in such noble activities and said that programs like ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam’ also emotionally connect people with the environment.
On this occasion, all the academic and non-academic staff of the college also participated actively.
In the second phase of the programme, in the afternoon, various types of flowers were also planted in the college campus in collaboration with the Eco Club of the college, which enhanced the beauty of the campus and increased the love and awareness towards nature among the students.
At the end of the programme, the college’s NSS Programme Officer Dr. Sushil Kumar Mehta expressed his gratitude to all the volunteers, staff members, forest department and eco club and said that such activities promote social awareness and sensitivity towards nature among students.
