Rohru’s Vishal Kaith makes long stride in professional Football 

Vishal Kaith, a resident of Shimla’s Rohru district, is an Indian professional footballer, an excellent goalkeeper, his name is becoming very important in Indian football.  His game in football is becoming huge.

 After coming through the state-level ranks for Himachal Pradesh, he was recruited by the AIFF to play for the Under-16 and Under-19 national teams.  Was selected to play U-19 National League before joining AIFF Elite Academy in 2011.

 In 2014, after spending a year at the AIFF Elite Academy, Vishal Kaith joined Shillong Lajong and made his official debut in his teams second game of the 2014–15 Indian Federation Cup against Salgaonkar and was named man of the match.

 Kaith made his senior I-League debut on 28 March 2015 against Sporting Goa, but was sent-off in the second half for a handball outside the box.  He saved a penalty taken by Sunil Chhetri against Bengaluru in the Federation Cup.  Kaith showed good progress in the pre-season of the new season and became a vital part of the club, starting all matches for Lajong in the 2015–16 I-League season.  Under the guidance of Thangboi Singto, Kaith became the first-choice goalkeeper for Shillong Lajong throughout the season.  He started in all matches and kept half a dozen important clean sheets. On 25 May 2016, Indian Super League club Pune City signed Keith on loan from Shillong Lajong for the third edition of the league.  On August 31, 2019, Vishal Kaith signed for Chennaiyin on a long-term permanent deal with the club after spending the last three seasons at Pune City. In June 2022, Vishal Kaith signed for ATK Mohun Bagan on a three-year deal  .

 Kaith was handed his India U19 debut on 4 October 2013 against Qatar U19 in a 2014 AFC U-19 Championship qualifier.  Kaith kept the first clean sheet for India U19 against Nepal U19, in which India U19 beat Nepal U19 1–0.  In July 2017, Kaith represented India U23 in the AFC U23 Championship qualifiers held in Qatar.  Vishal plays as a goalkeeper for Indian Super League club ATK Mohun Bagan and the India national team.
