HP enhance in the cash award to Olympic medal winner

Himachal Pradesh Government today announced to enhance the cash award of Olympics medal winner and offer state service to Varnun Kumar, player of Indian Bronze triumphant team in the assembly on Friday .
Soon after question hours Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur gave a statement in the house informing that Varuan Kumar who belonged to Chamba district of Himachal currently residing at Jalandhar along with his family would be provided Rs one Crore cash award by the state Government and to be offer service of Deputy Superintendent in the state police.
He said that it is matter of privilege that Indian Cricket team have won after 49 years and one of the player of Bronze winner team also belonged to the State. He said that his government want to encourage more youth to bring the laurel to this hill state.
CM said that now Government have increased the cash award of Rs 2 Cr to gold winner , Rs 1.20 Crore to Silver and Rs one Cr to Bronze medalist. 
Youth & sports Minister Rakesh Pathania said that State Government would set up a Hockey academy at Nahan in Sirmaur and another such academy would be set up at near Dalhousie where Government would be take service of Mr Varun Kumar. 
Asha Kumari of Congress said that Gold winners belonged to her assembly segment and his family temporarily shifted to Jalandhar for jobs but his family origin is Gaddi( Shepard community.  She added that Varun not brought laurel to to the state but he was part of Indian Junior champion team earlier .
Congress leader Sukhvinder Singh Sukh welcomed the move of government to hike the cash award stating that now cash ward for Bronze medal have been enhanced from Rs 50 lakh to one crore.
