Himachal Admin to levy entry fee : Trip to Lahaul dearer

Tourists and travelers now have to pay entry fee to enter in the Lahaul Spiti valley from Rohtang Pass tunnel as Administration decided to levy charges to vehicles passing to the tribal district.
A press release issued by the SDM Keylong Priya Nagata on Friday said that a barrier has been established at Sisu to collect the entry fee to be spent on the local development.
Tourists would have to pay entry fee at  entrance of Lahaul . After the construction of Atal Rohtang Tunnel, an increase in the number of tourists is being recorded in Lahul-Spiti. 
SDM said that the decisions to levy entry fee was decided with increasing in the flux of tourists as the keeping the situation, the administration has established a barrier of Sadha in Sisu. 
The entry fee or taxes on barriers have already been started. 
Rs 50 is being charged for two wheelers entering Lahaul, Rs 200 for cars, Rs 300 for SUVs and MUVs. 500 rupees will be charged from bus and truck.
This fee will not be charged from the vehicles coming daily, for this they would apply to the SDM office and those having issued pass for this could move hassle free without paying the charges.
