202 Families in Karsog Find Permanent Homes, 30 More Sanctioned

For generations, many families in Karsog lived in kutcha houses with cracked walls and leaking roofs, braving harsh weather without the security of a proper home. Today, that picture is changing rapidly, thanks to the state government’s ambitious Golden Jayanti Ashray Yojana, driven by Chief Minister Thakur Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu’s vision of dignity and safety for the underprivileged.

Over the past two years, 202 needy families in the Karsog subdivision have been provided with permanent houses, replacing their unsafe shelters. The state government has invested over ₹3 crore in this initiative, with a strong focus on supporting families from Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, and Other Backward Classes.

Each beneficiary received ₹1.5 lakh in two installments to ensure quality and planned construction of their homes. For families who had struggled for decades under fragile roofs, this scheme has not only given them safety but also restored their hope and confidence.

Voices of Gratitude from Beneficiaries

The joy is visible in the eyes of families who now call these houses their own. Jagdish Kumar and Dnyan Chand from Bhanthal village, Yashwant Singh from Bhutti Sanarali, and Sunni Devi shared their happiness, saying:

“This scheme has fulfilled our long-cherished dream of having a safe home. We are deeply grateful to Chief Minister Sukhu and the state government for this gift of security and dignity.”

30 More Homes Approved for 2025

Building on this success, the government has approved 30 more houses in Karsog for 2025. Beneficiaries have already received the first installment of ₹75,000, and construction work is underway.

Strict Monitoring for Quality Construction

Tehsil Welfare Officer Bhopal Sharma is personally monitoring the progress of construction by directly engaging with beneficiaries. His focus is on ensuring that every house is completed on time, with no eligible family left behind.

A Step Towards Dignity and Self-Reliance

The Golden Jayanti Ashray Yojana is more than just financial assistance—it reflects the state government’s commitment to ensuring a respectful, safe, and self-reliant life for the underprivileged. The homes built under this scheme stand as symbols of governance that prioritizes people’s needs and takes development to the grassroots.

For the families of Karsog, these new houses are not just walls of brick and cement, but a foundation of security, respect, and hope for the future.
