Secretary DPIIT meets Himachal Startups

The Department of Industries, Himachal Pradesh today organized an interaction of Secretary, Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT), Government of India, Anurag Jain with the Startup Incubators in the State at Dharmshala. He also inaugurated an exhibition of Startups in the State, wherein 24 Startups showcased their ideas, products, services from different sectors (IT, Health, Food Technology, biotechnology, tourism, environmental science and technology, etc.).

The Secretary, DPIIT, along with the Director of Industries, Himachal Pradesh interacted with a group of 8 nodal officers from State Incubation Centres.

 Director NIFT Akash Dewangan was part of this meeting.

During the meeting, Director of Industries, Himachal Pradesh, Rakesh Kumar Prajapati briefed on the progress made and challenges faced in implementation of ‘Chief Minister’s Startup,Innovation Projects, New Industries Scheme’. He further shared on the initiatives taken up for building State’s Startup Ecosystem, work in progress on Startup Policy and road map for further strengthening the ecosystem.

He requested GoI for providing fiscal support to strengthen the State Startup ecosystem, to which the Secretary, DPIIT assured that all possible help will be provided to State to plug the gaps in the implementation of its Startup policy. The dignitary interacted with mentors, showcased Startups and listened to their views on their Startup journey so far and expressed his pleasure on efforts made by the Department of Industries in building the Startup Ecosystem and encouraged Startups to move faster towards the commercialization of their Startup ideas.
